State funds nurture collaborative service organizations and networks that advance California arts and artists
The California Arts Council announced its plans to award $28,500 to the Taiko Community Alliance (TCA) as part of its Statewide and Regional Networks program.
The Statewide and Regional Networks program supports arts service organizations that provide specialized, practical services to working artists, constituent organizations and cultural community. Collectively, these networks help to activate California Arts Council constituents, the arts community, stakeholders, and the public.
The Taiko Community Alliance plans to utilize these funds in the coming 2018-2019 year towards programming and administrative costs -specifically towards the 50th Anniversary of Taiko in North America projects.
“An award from CAC is an honor and a privilege.” says Derek Oye, Chairman of TCA’s Board of Directors. “It is a recognition of taiko’s importance in California and across North America; it is also a validation that all our work to empower the people and advance the art form is important. We deeply appreciate CAC’s support towards our programs and mission.”
The CAC SRN grant has been an integral part of TCA’s growth and reach since our launch in 2013. This is our third consecutive award from this program.
TCA is one of 43 grantees chosen for the SRN grant, which is part of the CAC’s $16.3 million investment in arts programs statewide.
