Susan Yuen currently serves as Treasurer on the Taiko Community Alliance Transitional Board. She was a charter member of Stanford Taiko and a key organizer for the inaugural Intercollegiate Taiko Invitational in 1995. From 1996 to 2005 she performed with the Kenny Endo Taiko Ensemble in Honolulu, Hawaii. She is founding member of Jun Daiko and teaches taiko classes at the Mountain View Buddhist Temple.
Susan is the Grants Program Manager at the Junior Statesmen Foundation. Prior to this she worked as the Manager of Grants and Special Projects for the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Assistant Director of the Stanford Center for Social Innovation. From 2000 to 2005, Susan was founder and director of GEAR UP Hawaii, a statewide college access program funded by the federal government. Susan holds a B.A. in International Relations and M.A. in International Policy Studies from Stanford University.
