TCA’s inaugural Advisory Council was introduced at NATC 2019 by Derek Oye. This group of foundational members of the taiko community were selected to serve for at least 2 years to advise the existing Board of Directors. This group of individuals have been chosen from across the country for their deep historical engagement with TCA and NATC to help the board retain institutional memory and credibility from the community’s core. Each member of the new Council is a TCA member who is passionate about the organization, its mission, purposes, goals, policies, and programs, and promises to bring their valuable perspective of the art form and its practitioners to the TCA Board.
