Message from NATC15 Coordinator

Dear Friends,

It has truly been an honor to serve as your NATC 2015 coordinator.  As I move on from this position, I’d like to thank the TCA Board of Directors and departing Executive Director, Bruce Davis for their assistance and guidance throughout the project.  This has been the most intense, challenging, surprising, yet meaningful experience I’ve had to date, and I could not have done it without the support of the Bay Area, Las Vegas, and the larger taiko communities.  It feels strange to write a farewell message, since I plan to continue involvement with TCA as a volunteer, so I’m going to rhyme…

NATC was quite a ride, through which I learned and grew
From Bay to Desert- everything was dry and time certainly flew

Gotomeetings, Googledocs, Website updates, Doodle this and doodle that…
Meetings here, meetings there, make them all aware- UNLV is where it’s at
Workshops, discussion, marketplace, equipment, volunteers
Recruit, recruit, recruit them all to ease the work and fears
Fundraise, housing lists, catering bills… tick tock, tick tock, tick tock…
A race to the end for great tradition, to Vegas everyone did flock

3 days in the sun, some major fun, Ei Ja Nai Ka, Fukushima, and all
Slot machines, inspiring teams, and performances- we had a ball
Looking back a month removed, it all seems like a blur
But, we survived, a little sleep deprived, with good memories to stir

With thankful heart, I do depart as time hurries along
It’s been a thrill, my heart fulfilled by this community, so strong

Planning NATC gives new perspective to be seen
If you’re interested in the experience, we need a host for 2017… 🙂

I cannot put into words how much I have valued this role
Working with inspiring and passionate people have helped to realize some goals
I simply leave the payroll, but will continue on the line
As a volunteer with TCA, the pleasure is truly mine

If you would like to get involved and share some of this reward,
Shoot us an email, drop us a line…

All Best,
Elise Fujimoto
